Our drone fleet is growing quickly as we wrap up 2018! We recently added 3 new drones to our fleet as they all serve a different and unique purpose carrying different pay loads. Having multiple drones ensures we don’t have down time from being able to complete projects when you need projects rushed. These new acquisitions allow us to be able to continue providing you with the best quality the drone industry has to offer no matter what your needs are. Not only can we provide you with the best quality, the latest technology allows us to operate safer and more efficient than ever before. We acquired the DJI Matrice 210, DJI Mavic 2 Pro, and the DJI Inspire 2, each having a unique purpose.
DJI Matrice 210 – this is our second Matrice and will serve many purposes. This is one of DJI’s only drones capable of flying a thermal camera for our building enevelope inspections and will act as a back up for when we have to perform annual maintenance on our other aircraft. This drone offers a dual gimbal in the front meaning we can fly 2 cameras, capturing 2 different perspectives at the same time, capturing thermal and visible imaging simultaneously, and capturing video and photos simultaneously. The upward gimbal gives us the ability to document the undersides of bridges with ease, giving us an advantages perspective otherwise unattainable with other drones. We use this drone for creative projects on a routine basis and will serve as a good backup to the Inspire 2.
DJI Mavic Pro 2 – this little drone packs a punch in quality and capability. It’s small enough to throw in a backpack, but has an impressive hasselbald 1” camera that captures 20mp still shots, 4K video, has 360 degree obstacle avoidance and sensing, and is a perfect drone for flying indoors. We specifically purchased this aircraft to help us perform bridge inspections documenting bear pads for structural issues. However, we also have been able to use it on creative aerial photography projects, mapping projects and aerial video projects flying indoors. We have designed a custom cage around this drone allowing for safe flight operations in tight quarters and found a way to mount lights on it to illuminate dark spaces. This new drone provides a solid 31 minutes of flight time giving us the ability to do a lot in one flight. This drone comes with enough quality to act as a great back up to any of our visible imaging and video needs.
DJI Inspire 2 – this drone is a creative beast. While we are already putting it to use on aerial videography projects, we plan to use the X7 to help use perform a building envelope inspection on a 32 story building in downtown Dallas that is under renovation. This drone presents roughly a 25 minute flight time, and gives the ability to deploy multiple different cameras with various capabilities. We will be using an X4S and the X7 primarily. We have the ability to capture 26mp raw images and 6k raw video footage. Camera lense options vary from 16mm to 50mm field of view.
