The Stories We’ve Told

Aerial Videography Highlight Reel

We have worked on some sweet projects this year. This reel is just a few of the highlights from projects in the Rocky Mountains for Chris Reeve Knives to betting Joey Gallo with the Texas Rangers he couldn’t hit the drone. We love doing anything creative to help you market your product or service in a unique way. Have we sparked your curiosity? Check out some of our work below!

Texas Rangers Moon Shot

The Texas Rangers one and only Joey Gallo is featured in this commercial we got to work on with House of Sticks for this years season. We flew the field capturing shots the producer specifically wanted and got a lot of random B Roll shots of the park. Our shot was for this particular video was at the end when we challenged Joey Gallo to try his best to hit the drone with a few pop flies to the outfield. Even though he couldn’t quite pull it off, I was quite impressed with how close he got!

Car Dealership Aerial Video Highlight Reel

We worked with quite a few car dealerships to help capture a unique perspective to make commercials and marketing videos unique with drone video footage. Audi, BMW, Cadillac, Honda, Ford and Toyota are just a few name brands we worked with last year as we traveled from California, to Florida, Alabama, Louisiana and Texas to capture footage on site, giving every dealership a unique look for marketing campaigns.

Chris Reeves Knives- Boise Idaho Mountain Range

Boise Idaho is a hidden gym. Tucked into a valley, the surrounding scenery is breath taking. Working with Chris Reeve Knives, we took up into the mountains just 45 minutes out of town. While we were there, a cloud inversion had been sitting  in the valley for a few days. We were privileged to be able to ride up the mountain enough to get above the inversion where I was just blown away! Watch this video to see the highlights of the drone footage we captured for the day in the mountains.

Chris Reeves Knives

Manufactured by hand in Boise, ID, Chris Reeves Knife company builds the highest quality on the market. After learning the process and detail that goes into manufacturing these knives, I couldn’t resist getting one for myself. We worked on 2 different videos, while this one didn’t encompass much of our aerial work, it portrays the quality and detail that goes in to every single knife, making Chris Reeve Knives what it is today.

Magnolia Properties

The real estate industry is one that can greatly benefit from the use of drone videography. Easily showcase the exterior of a building, highlight parking features, show where the building is in relation to amenities like restaurants, malls, popular areas and major roads or interstates. Magnolia Properties was looking for unique ways to market some of their apartment complexes in a unique way. As usual, we were brought in to help capture the drone footage for this marketing video.

Boy Scouts of America

Trustworthiness, Loyalty, Helpfulness, Friendliness, Courteous, Kind, Obedient, Cheerful, Thrifty, Brave, Clean and Reverent. Laws unique to the Boycotts of America. The Circle Ten Council proudly hosted the 2018 National Meeting here in Dallas, TX and we were honored to get to help tell this story. We got some truly incredible shots with the drone that morning! This project was cool for me since I was once a cub scout and boy scout myself.

The Doug Eastland Group

If you are a real estate agent that works with a lot of land and ranch property owners looking to sell, then drones or UAV’s can be your best friend. It’s the best way to show off the features of a property such as ponds, fields, barns, storage facilities, wildlife, livestock and more. This marketing video for a property south of the Dallas area shows the properties features well, and didn’t cost as much as you might think!

RCS Roofing & Sheet Metal

Drone videography is the perfect way to market your roofing business in a unique way. Whether you want to capture the start to finish repair or replacement of a roofing project or showcase the quality of a roofing material, there is no better way to get quality video. RCS Roofing out of DFW in Texas asked us to help show the quality of work they provide for their clients, and this video portrays it quite well and in a pretty cool way!

Audi Ft. Worth, TX

We work with a few different production groups helping capture unique aerial video footage for car dealerships to use for marketing throughout the country. This is one application where we get to use drones in various capacities capturing perspectives at high altitudes, low action shots, holding the drone as a gimbaled camera, getting time lapses and more. Helping you capture a unique perspective to make your commercials and marketing videos unique is what we do best, and we will go anywhere to make that happen for you!

“Jeff is one of the best drone pilots around. Courageous and skilled. You won’t ever hear he can’t get the shot unless, its physically or legally impossible. Plus he is an actual pilot, not just a drone op.”

Scott Stickane- House of Sticks

What We Fly

Drone technology today is only getting better and we strive to use the best in the industry to provide you with the highest quality for the right budget. Here’s what we use:

DJI Inspire 2: Designed for creative and cinematic aerial photography and videography, this drone has a payload capable of capturing up to 5.1k raw video footage and 20mp still images with the Zenmuse X5s camera. This aircraft gives us about a 30 minute flight time with its dual battery system. The retractable landing gear gives us a clear 360 degree clear view for filming in any direction in relation to the direction the drone is facing or flying.

DJI Mavic Pro 2: This brand new bird is a great backup drone for us. Capturing 2omp still shots, beautiful 4k video, and 31 minute flight times, this little power house is the perfect grab and go drone. We keep it in our backpack as a back up drone in case technology fails us and our primary equipment is inoperable.

How We Capture Video Using Drones

High Altitude Aerial Video– Flying up to 400′ to capture an elevated perspective of buildings for marketing, documenting construction progress, documenting property damage and current conditions, capturing a properties location in relation to nearby amenities (major interstate, shopping centers, schools, downtown, etc), getting beautiful scenery such as mountains, lakes, rivers, and more are opportunities most people think of when considering using drones for aerial imaging or videography.

Capturing this perspective can often be performed much more affordably compared to utilizing a helicopter or airplane. There are situations where you are not allowed to use a drone or you cannot get a high enough perspective due to the FAA’s 400′ flight altitude restriction. You can quickly change elevation capturing a perspective from far away to close up. The costs to operate are pretty low compared to alternative aerial photo and video methods.

Smooth Low Altitude Action Shots-What most producers really want is a drone operator willing to get out of the “safe sky” and capture some low action shots. To get the low and creative shots the producer is picturing can often be challenging as we are asked to fly in and around tricky obstacles.

The shot pictured to the left was for a Boy Scout video as we captured some low flying video of the troop canoeing on the lake.

Fly Indoors– When you fly indoors, you dont have the ability to take advantage of todays technology advancements that make flying outdoors pretty easy. You lose the ability for the drone to fly using satellites and gps location, meaning the drone, if left without any controls, will drift and move based on surrounding wind conditions. This makes flying inside quite challenging!

You can capture a lot of really cool action shots for car show rooms, get virtual tours of homes and buildings, display warehouse stocks, and more.

Gimbaled Handheld Cameras- Yes, drones were designed for flying, but capture a lot of video footage just simply holding the drone and camera by hand. Most drones have very well designed gimbaled cameras that are perfect for capturing stable hand held video footage.

On almost every project we work on, the drone ends up getting used by hand capturing anything you would typically use a hand held camera for. One upcoming project is on a ranch and we will be getting video using this method for horseback riding, shooting shot guns, hunting quail and more.

In the past, we have used this method to capture video of the inside of homes, office buildings, for car lots, videoing the manufacturing process of knifes, and more.

Duplicate Autonomous Flight Paths– Autonomous flights with drones are available with most drones on the market today. We have worked on projects in the past to capture the same flight path at 4 different times to create an evolving time-lapse from the sunrise to sunset as a marketing piece.

Autonomous flight paths have also been completed for construction companies interested in getting the same flight paths captured to document construction progress exactly the same each time.
