Red Tide continues to be an issue along much of Florida’s Gulf Coast and has been an issue for most of the summer.
Here is a June 23rd view (images and video) taken over Nokomis, FL by a local drone aerial photography company. Nokomis Beach is south of Sarasota, FL.
Tarillo Vue operates drones for commercial use across Florida. While most of our work involves shooting images and video of commercial buildings for inspections, we may fly our drone over the Gulf of Mexico on our next project to capture images of the Red Tide.
Red Tide is the result of harmful algal blooms, or HABs, that occur when colonies of algae—simple plants that live in the sea and freshwater—grow out of control while producing toxic or harmful effects on people, fish, shellfish, marine mammals, and birds.
